Jake Wilkinson Marine Engineer

Jake Wilkinson

Owner & Operator at Onshore Marine

Jake, owner and head Engineer at Onshore Marine, started his engineering journey in 2007 as an apprentice for Sunseeker at the age of 16.

Since then he has worked his way up the ladder, working on super yachts world wide on all vessels large and small.

He decided to move here to Auckland, New Zealand in 2016 where he worked for a Volvo Penta dealer and became the Service Manager for the largest dealer in NZ.

He has always had a drive to have his own successful business and is taking the steps to ensure the dream becomes a reality. Putting all his wealth and knowledge into his passion.

Owner & Operator at Onshore Marine

Spending most of his life on the water or in it, Josh has a love for the water like no other. Motivated during his adolescence by fishing, diving, wake boarding, surfing and all things wet - it’s no surprise he choose a profession centered around his passion.

Joining the Royal New Zealand Navy at 17, Josh choose to study Marine Engineering. After gaining his Marine Engineer Certificate and Boat Master qualification, he traveled the world working on super yachts and in the oil and gas industry. During this time he lived in Central America gaining the Dive Master qualification, with additional wreck diver, nitrox, deep, rescue diver and emergency oxygen administrator qualifications.

He has now returned home to continue working in his field, and has teamed up with Jake to continue to grow Onshore Marine and share his passion with others.
